Our original flavour is a tasty blend of salt, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, coriander seeds, pepper, and a cheeky dash of chilli.

Cured for 1.5 weeks

Ingredients (Allergens in Bold) -  salt, vinegar (Sulphites), Worcestershire sauce (Fish, Barley), honey, coriander seeds, pepper, and a cheeky dash of chilli.

Please note - Bliksem Biltong is cured traditionally without the use of dehydrators or artificial preservatives. Because our products are authentic and free of E-numbers, the biltong begins to oxidise the moment it is sliced. While this causes the meat to lose further moisture and become more brittle over time, it remains safe to eat.

We assign a "Best Before" date of five days for our Original biltong, which is cured for 1.5 weeks and loses 40% of its moisture, and ten days for our Sidekick (which is cured for 2.5 weeks to a 60% moisture loss). This is not a "Use By" date; however, we find that after five days, the sliced Original biltong can become quite dry and lose a bit of its originality.
